FIRST, a big thank you to Jacob, Tucker, Pat, Brady and Aiden for being rock stars and doing interviews with me at the Joe’s Basement Retro Video Game Night at Mill # 5 in Lowell (inside Coffee and Cotton) a few weeks ago.
Second, again, huge ups to Joe, Bryan from Replay’d in Allston Mass, Management (Jacques’ wife), Darcie from LLAMA and Brendan and Jim and Julia Malakie from The Lowell Sun.
In the words of Tommy Boy, “let me tell you why I suck.” Apologies to ALL. I was plagued by tech issues and stupidity recording and editing this episode … all self-inflected wounds … I lost some files ... I hit record when not talking and hit pause during other interviews … truly, one fumble after another. DOH!
And I promise this IS the last time I’ll mention the November event … because over next month plus we’ll be plugging our next Joe’s Basement Retro Video Game Night at Mill # 5 in Lowell on Thursday January 27, 2022 (wow … 2022) to benefit Afternoon In The Arts in Lowell. Thanks again for putting up with me and these boo boos and thanks again to the rock stars who made the night a success and did kick ass interviews.

On the light side of the force, we chat Sesame Street’s FIRST Asian puppet, CP single handedly bringing live back to Hammer Films and how Jacques watched Tommy Boy together with Joe (and how Biff plans to watch UHF with Joe his next visit here!) On the Darkside (reluctantly) we chat another school shooting, Row v Wade (and how it really just effects poor folks) and how Lowell schools are #1 in state with Covid rates.

After weeks of talking about it ... Jacques’ first event at Mill # 5 (Joe’s Basement – Retro Video Game Night) happened… and it 1000% wouldn’t of happen or gone nearly as well without Joe playing super hero and making so much happen! It’s Thanksgiving this week … Not a favorite of Biff or Jacques .. but both do plan on eating stupid amounts of food over the holiday weekend! Japan Princes Mako maybes NYC her home, Joe’s NEW Craiglist finds and Jacques hasn’t climbed out of the horror Hammer Films rabbit hole he now calls home. Yes, we touch a bit on the unthinkable horrible court ruling in WI that broke just before we record … I guess murder is legal in WI now (note: only if your white is it legal.) Did I lie to Joe and say we had a retro game store owner zooming in to talk Retro World in Hartford this past weekend … NO … that was really the plan … did it work out where Biff and I got Joe for the whole show and our lives AND the podcast are much better for it … survey says YES. Big week as Joe found Jacques a “vader model” 2600 Atari WITH 12 games for FREE for Jacques on Craigslist, which Jacques will use on Nov. 17th at Mill 5 in Lowell for his retro gaming event, called Joe’s Basement (nope, not kidding)… Joe, Jacques and their wive’s kids all drove the 2 hours to Hartford for Retro World… Jacques 1st time … Joe’s … 10th(?) … totally awesome. The all chatted Joe and Jacques taking in recent guest Greg Boggis’ first live show in 20 months, Mondo Comedy (at Luna Theater inside Mill 5 in Lowell) and yes, Jacques “borrowed” a joke from that show to open the podcast this week. Jacques family IS Halloween year-round … but actually Halloween is just extra special… Special like the Paul Lynde Halloween Special that Jacques watched again with Joe post his family’s covid safe out door Halloween Party (and really EVERYONE should get to watch Ghostbusters with Joe at least once in their lives!)
On sad / tragic side of life … death on a film set, passing of actor Peter Scolari and Joe Manchin is still a GOP prick.
Biff talks the return of the NHL to national TV coverage and how good TNT is at it and how good Wolfgang Van Halen is at dealing with trolls. Biff also talks a little Shout Factor TV and Jacques talks Only Murders In The Building.

All it took to get Joe to come back for a couple episodes was to have one of our comedy heroes to pass away! Worth it? Maybe. With news of the great Norm MacDonald leaving this plane of existence way to soon had Joe zoom in for this week’s CP and next week’s Sideshow. Jacques tells of his Pandemic Unemployment Assistance tale of woe … with a happy(ish) ending. Friend of the podcast Renatezky was in Boston for week and Jacques and his family FINALLY did the Boston tourist stuff they’ve talked about doing for years … like seeing the Gardner Museum (This Is A Robbery on Netflix art heist museum), Duck Boat Tour, Tea Party stuff … Biff (sort of) breaks down the do’s and don’ts of the word “Oriental”, breaks down another awesome national crime in Japan news clip and also has another “see if the round-eyed co-host can tell Japanese woman apart / guess which is the porn star” game. Biden won AZ … again. Justin Trudeau won Canada … again. Joe’s watching “Only Murderers” on HULU, Biff is watching “Dexter” and Jacques still ringing the bell for “Ted Lasso”.
