Nothing says happy Valentine’s day then listening to a podcast about Paul Lynde … I THINK!
Joe, Biff and Jacques talk about one of their all-time favorite television personalities, Paul Lynde with author Cathy Rudolph about her amazing relationship with and her book - Paul Lynde, A Biography. His Life. His Love(s). His Laughter.
From the crazy way 17-year=old high school junior Cathy accidently got Paul’s home number (and his willingness to chat with aa stranger for hours on the phone), to her (and her fathers) first improbable afternoon with Paul thru her close relationship with him the last 7 years of his life … this was a fun fun chat and really, we could have kept talking Paul Lynde a few more hours.
Joe who can read … read the book and came with tons of notes and questions … Jacques, NOT the best reader, bought and listened to the book twice this week.

Brady retires and goes out on some drama with Pats, Pats nation … totally expected and Brian Flores shining much needed light on NFL BS Rooney Rule! Biff’s watching Demonslayer S2 and Jacques binged Pennyworth and Boba Fett.

Biff lives in LA … Jacques in Boston … both fully vaxed both have taken Covid pretty seriously … BOTH run of luck has run out … not as much as Meatloaf’s has .. but both got Covid last week!

Jacques finally sees Ghost Buster Afterlife and Joe was right … 2nd best Ghostbuster movie! Jacques also binged The IT crowd upon a recommendation from their pal All Star Tommy. Jacques also loving Peacemaker on HBO Max and Biff’s … watching endless hockey … even on HULU?!?!?!?
They talk Jacques loving KFC’s new Beyond Meat Chicken Nuggets and a weird funding the police story in Japan.

TODAY IS THE DAY … FINALLY, the Boston Bruins retire Willie O’Ree’s number 22!!
The NHL needs to retire his number league wide!
Biff and Jacques chat the Great Willie O’Ree. The Bruins, a little late to the dance, are finally retiring Willie’s #22 he wore in 1958 when he broke the color barrier. Biff tells of a personal interaction with Willie in Santa Monica, CA a few years back. Biff also points out while Willie’s number being retired most likely was a positive step brought on by the BLM movement, the NHL has a long way to go to make their “Hockey Is For Everyone” program a true outreach.

What a perfect way to end a “everythings fine, nothing to see here” year. We WERE set to do a end of year sideshow – best of worst of list thing … BUT just before zooming in together … we hear the great Betty White past well … just did a regular show. The Ghost In The Machine really didn’t want Biff recording this week as you’ll hear if you can make it to the last part of the podcast!
Jacques chatted his (with friend Renatezky in from LA) trips to NYC and skiing in VT, chatting covid (surprise surprise surprise) wreaking havoc all over and really hitting sports world.
